How to find out my 25 km radius in Victoria under metropolitan Melbourne new restrictions
For more than two months, Melburnians have not been able to travel more than 5kms from their homes under harsh Stage 4 restrictions.
But on Sunday, the Victorian premier announced the controversial radius will be extended to 25kms with residents now allowed to travel that far from their homes.
The Department of Health and Human Services have now released a tool to help Melburnians figure out their expanded bubble.
“Enter your full address - including the street number - on the map to see how far you are allowed to travel from your home under Second Step COVID-19 restrictions in Melbourne,” the DHHS said.
A circle showing their 25kms then pops up.
The tool can be accessed here.
On Monday morning there was a note on the website saying there was high volumes of traffic to the map and to try again soon if residents were unable to access it.
Melburnians now have no limit on time spent outdoors and outdoor gatherings have increased from five people to 10 from two households.
Melbourne residents will also be able to get a haircut, see an allied health professional, renovate their home, wash their car and bid at an auction, though a number of strict safety protocols will be in place.
