Arsenal vs Burnley live: Mikel Arteta and Sean Dyche react as Clarets claim Premier League win

Burnley win for the first time in 46 years at Arsenal to move out of the bottom three

Burnley claimed a 1-0 victory at Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday night to climb out of the bottom three.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang scored an own goal, flicking home an Ashley Westwood corner, to settle the contest.

The Gunners were reduced to 10 men in the second half when Granit Xhaka was sent off for grabbing Westwood around the throat.

And the home side were lucky not to be reduced to nine men when Mohamed Elneny pushed James Tarkowski in the face seconds before the Clarets took the lead.

Burnley rode their luck at times in the first half with Nick Pope again in fine form but the Clarets carried plenty of threat themselves as they claimed their first top flight away win of the season.

The result moves Burnley onto nine points from 11 matches and above Fulham in the standings with a game in hand.

The Clarets head to Aston Villa on Thursday looking to build on this result ahead of what looks a crucial few weeks over the festive period.

Our Burnley FC reporter Alex James will be holding a Facebook Live after full time at around 10.45pm to talk all things Clarets. That will be live here.
