How to get a $200 regional travel voucher towards your holiday
Holidaymakers in regional Victoria will have access to $200 vouchers to subsidise their accommodation, tours and attractions, but it is first in first served and only 40,000 are up for grabs in the first wave.
You can apply for one voucher per household from 10 am on Friday, December 11 at business.vic.gov.au/travelvouchers
The $28 million Regional Travel Voucher Scheme is part of the multi-pronged $465 million Victorian Tourism Recovery Package.
Regional households are eligible for the vouchers and can holiday in any region including the Mornington Peninsula and the Yarra Valley.
The only requirements are that you spend at least two nights at accommodation and spend at least $400 combined on a place to stay, attractions and tours.
Those who are successful in getting a voucher in the first round must holiday between December 12 and January 20. The $200 is redeemable after travel by providing proof of expenditure.
“This year more than ever, Victorians deserve a holiday – these vouchers will make that cheaper and easier for families to get out and support their state,” Tourism, Sport and Major Events Minister Martin Pakula said.
“A bit more money in people’s pockets means they can see more and do more in regional Victoria – helping local businesses and the people and communities they support to bounce back.”
Additional lots of 40,000 vouchers will become available on January 20 for travel between January 27 and April 1 and on March 30 for travel between April 6 and May 31 – spreading the benefits for regional communities well into the year.
