Caulfield Cup 2019: Results and finishing order

The 2019 Caulfield Cup has gone the way of Japanese galloper Mer De Glace.

Damian Lane kept the Hishashi Shimizu-trained galloper out of trouble throughoutand his class told in the run to the line, with Mer De Glace sweeping past them to claim the Cup by a length from local hope Vow And Declare with Mirage Dancer rounding out the placings.

It was a wide open renewal of the Cup withrecent Lindsay Park acquisition Constantinople sent out a $6.50 favourite, ahead of another import in Finche.

But for all the hype around the Europeans it was the Japanese galloper who stole the show in what was a very impressive win.
