Celtic 0 Rangers 2 LIVE reaction as Steven Gerrard’s side win derby with ease
Dominant Rangers saw off city rivals Celtic in a derby performance to savour.
Connor Goldson's two strikes, one in each half, saw the visitors pick up a memorable win despite enjoying no travelling support at Parkhead.
Neil Lennon's side meanwhile put in a poor performance, failing to muster a single shot on target and just one shot overall in the second 45 minutes.
Steven Gerrard's squad meanwhile mustered a second successive win at the home of their arch-rivals for the first time in 23 years.
Lennon opted to start 20-year-old academy graduate Stephen Welsh in defence but he didn't pass the almighty test of a first derby. Yet neither did life-long Hoops fan Shane Duffy who struggled with his passing and was second-best to Goldson at both goals.
In the first instance with just five minutes on the clock the English defender lost his man and nodded home from a free-kick.
Then Goldson prodded home from a corner recycled into the area, with Duffy left on the deck.
Diego Laxalt, Patryk Klimala and Vasilis Barkas all made their derby debuts too but faltered throughout.
Celtic had chances but Moi Elyounoussi's lob flew over the crossbar while Leigh Griffiths should have done better after taking it round Allan McGregor.
