Lewis Capaldi presented with personalised box of ‘extra small’ condoms
Lewis Capaldi was presented with his very own gift following the Brits on Tuesday night (because two awards weren’t enough, apparently) and it’s quite the offering.
We suppose, what do you get someone who’s just won a couple of Brit awards? Why, their very own box of personalised condoms, of course!
The singer, who took home best new artist and song of the year at the music bash at the O2, was chatting with press backstage when he was handed the auspicious gift.
Whether or not he found any use last night or they were purely ornamental is up for your imagination, but there’s no doubt Lewis was pretty chuffed to receive the present.
Speaking to Capital FM backstage, Lewis was presented with the personalised prophylactic, which mirrored the packaging JLS released when they came out with their own line of sexual sheaths.
If you remember, in 2010, JLS did their bit for the lovers – and charity – when their foundation teamed up with Durex for the Just Love Safe campaign.

Each coloured box, which was adorned with individual members’ faces, featured condoms that were ‘slightly thicker’ and had ‘extra lubrication’ compared to the average condom.
Seemingly very interested in his own box of contraceptives, Lewis had a laugh when he noticed it sported not the faces of JLS, but his own mug along with a reworked slogan based on his single Hold Me While You Wait.
Lewis read out in between giggles: ‘It says “Hold me while you wazz”. Is that what it says?!
‘Listen, it says “three extra small condoms”, and just because I’ve got a small penis, it doesn’t mean we have to band it about on the internet!’
The singer had quite the night at the Brits, between being muted by the TV censors during his acceptance speech, to swigging a bottle of buckfast on stage.
During his acceptance for song of the year for Somebody You Loved, Lewis was keen to clear up the inspiration behind the tune after it was suggested Love Island’s Paige Turley inspired him to put pen to paper on that one.
Speaking on stage, the Scottish jokester said: ‘Hello, hahaha. Hello. My name is Lewis, thanks very much for this. Contrary to popular belief, a lot of people think this song is about my ex-girlfriend who you can now see every night on Love Island.’
‘But it is actually about my grandmother who sadly, sadly passed away a few years ago,’ he then said. ‘And I hope to God that ITV don’t contact her to be on a reality dating TV show.
‘But thank you so much, this has been the best, best year of my life.’
