The Bachelorette's Pascal hits back in angry Instagram rant

Now, Pascal has defended himself in an extended video rant posted on his Instagram page, where he reveals what really happened behind the scenes.

“I feel like I need to defend my position,” Pascal explained.

“The way that I’m going to get portrayed on national television is not who I am as a person. It’s pretty sh*t, but it’s my side of the story.”

He described Elly and Becky as “fun, beautiful girls” who are “wholesome, good to be around and good value, which is why I was so upset and so angry when I got portrayed in this way and that I’d said all these things that just simply wasn’t the truth.”

He did admit to expressing concern that the girls were kissing so many contestants, but explained it was a “weird experience” that left him feeling uncomfortable.

"Of course I talked about the kissing. It’s the weirdest experience to watch these friends you’ve created in the house kiss the girl that you’re after … it’s weird and you can understand that.”

But he denied making any negative comments about Elly and Becky’s looks.

“The comment that Aggi said I made about the girls not being hot enough simply didn’t happen,” he said.

Pascal went on to explain that he believes he was set up by producers, who had convinced him to confront the contestants who are smokers and had been hiding their secret addictions from Elly and Becky.

“There had been a lot of guys smoking in the house and trying to hide it from the girls, so [producers] ended up convincing me that it would be the right thing to do … [They said] ‘Why don’t you tell the girls who smokes in the house, so they can make the best choice at love?’

“So I ended up agreeing to do that … and then I went and told some of the guys that I was going to do it and it got around the house that I was going to dob on the smokers and the producers worded up the smokers … it was kind of an example of ‘lets get him before he gets us’. They were going to get robbed on about smoking.”

He said the whole incident was awful and described the ordeal as “the worst night of my life”

“Getting attacked by five guys and two girls was the worst night of my life. I had a panic attack in the bathroom for about an hour,” he admitted.

“It’s such an immature thing and in the real world this wouldn’t happen …. but that’s reality TV for you.”

Pascal was eliminated on Thursday night along with fellow contestant Harry, who left the show to return home to his young son.

The Bachelorette continues on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on Ten.
