Rajasthan Royals played the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 33 of IPL 2020.

Batting first, RR's move to promote Robin Uthappa worked wonders as the veteran scored a breezy 41, after which Steve Smith took charge with a gritty fifty. Chris Morris's 4 wickets helped RCB restrict RR to 177.

In response, RCB were cruising when Padikkal and Kohli stitched another delightful partnership, before two quick wickets brought Rajasthan back in the game. AB de Villiers scored a whirlwind fifty to propel RCB to the sixth win off the season.

RCB vs DC: RCB won by 7 wickets

19:14 IST: RCB win by 7 wickets.AB de Villiers, take a bow! What a player, what a legend! 54 off 4 overs, 35 off 2 overs, easy, too easy for Mr. 360! Rajasthan Royals should have won this game, but the penultimate over changed the game altogether. ABD has done it so many times, and he again shows us why he is the best. The chase had been derailed in between coutesy couple of quick wickets, but RCB have pulled this off all due to the legend's presence. Everyone in the Rajasthan camp is crestfallen, as their playoff hopes further dwindle. Fine show from RCB again...

19:05 IST: Mr. 360 at his very best once again! The 19th over went for 25 runs, and Unadkat might have bowled RR out of the game. 10 needed off the last over. Super over?

19:00 IST: 35 needed off 2 overs, and it is all on ABD now. Gurkeerat is visibly struggling to get going. Kartik Tyagi has been mighty impressive, but can RR pull this off?

18:56 IST: 9 runs off Unadkat's over, but how costly would those 3 dots balls cost them? Still very tight- 45 off 18 balls.

18:49 IST: This game is getting closer with each passing ball. AB de Villiers was looking rusty, but a maximum off Archer would surely calm a few nerves in the RCB dug-out. 54 off 24 is a tough ask, and de Villiers is the key if RCB are to win from here. Fasten your seatbelts folks, a thriller is on the cards! RCB need 54 from 24 balls.

18:43 IST: Rahul Tewatia has been a game-changer for Rajasthan in IPL 2020. Aggressive with the bat, impressive with the ball and a livewire on the field. Any similarities (check the Twitter handle:)

18:40 IST: Kartik Tyagi concedes just 2 runs off the 14th over, and guess what, RR nearly had both batsmen run-out. The pendulum has swung for the umpteenth time this IPL, and RCB ar under the pump. Can AB de Villiers rescue them from this situation? RCB 104/3 after 14 overs.

18:33 IST: OUT! TWO WICKETS IN TWO BALLS, and both the set batsmen have been sent back to the hut. To be fair, Padikkal looked rusty today, and Tewatia deserved a wicket off his final ball. But, is Tewatia ever satisfied with a wicket? The first ball of the 14th over, he pulls of a marvellous to get rid of Virat Kohli. Yes, you read it right, the chase master has been dismissed, and boy, Rajasthan suddenly find themselves holding all the aces!

18:27 IST: 86 needed off 48 balls, and with the chase-master out their wielding the willow, RCB still are in ascendancy. Kohli is again dealing in singles and twos, but rotating the strike regularly to keep the pressure on the bowlers. RR badly need a wicket or two, otherwise these two have the potential to take RCB home from here. An interesting contest indeed..

18:25 IST: Has been a treat to the eye to watch the present and the future combine and perform well. Can the two once again take RCB closer to a victory?

18:17 IST: 10 overs done and RCB are 77/1. Boy, this game is neatly poised at the moment with RCB needing to score at exactly 10 runs an over. Advantage Bangalore at the moment, but Rajasthan can come back with a couple of wickets. Who can step up for Steve Smith? Got to feel that Rajasthan's campaign is at stake here!

18:06 IST: True that. Padikkal has been a cut above other youngsters, and has been remarkably consistent. A lesson for someone equally (perhaps even more) talented from Rajasthan Royals. Any guesses?

18:04 IST: A couple of quiet overs, and suddenly the asking rate has spiked over 10. But, the two batsmen seem to be in control, and the asking rate won't be an issue right now. Will have to wait and see how they negotiate the spinners, particularly Tewatia. Match well poised at this juncture. 55/1 after 8 overs.

17:56 IST: Powerplay done, and both teams would be happy with the way things are going. With Padikkal and Kohli blunting the ball with ease, RCB will feel they hold the edge. Rajasthan need wickets urgently, as these two batsmen are in some fine form. RCB 47/1 in 6 overs.

17:53 IST: This was an absolute screamer from Shahbaz Ahmed. Might just have helped his side contain Rajasthan by at least 10-15 runs. Sensational stuff!

17:46 IST: OUT! Aaron Finch again flatters to deceive. After striking two monstrous sixes off Archer, the Australian captain holes out to Robin Uthappa. Virat Kohli strides out, and well RR will want to get one of these two out, knowing what had happened the last time these two were together against them:) RCB 27/1 in 4 overs.

17:38 IST: So, the RCB openers have begun proceedings, albeit a touch slowly for their liking. Padikkal has been in striking form, but is due for a big score. Finch too hasn't really lit up this tournament. Rajasthan will eye early wickets, knowing the firepower inherent in this RCB batting line up. RCB 8/0 in 2 overs.

17:14 IST: Rajasthan Royals finish with 177 runs on the board. Spectacular final over from Chris Morris, and the South African has ended with wonderful figures of 4/27. However, Rajasthan will be pretty happy with this total, and what would specifically elate them is the return to form of two veterans: Steve Smith and Robin Uthappa. The move to promote Uthappa worked wonders as he pelted the ball with grace in the powerplay. Smith pierced the gaps with ease, and marched to his third half century in IPL 2020. RR will feel that they are 5-10 runs short, and Chris Morris was fabulous with his yorkers in the crucial death overs. Otherwise, a dismal performance with the ball, and Virat Kohli will have a lot to ponder. A competitive total nonetheless, and we have an exciting chase at hand...

17:04 IST: Has been a very well-compiled innings from the skipper! Stellar rear-guard action.

16:59 IST: Smith has got himself a half-century, and relief is evident on his face. This has been an excellent innings, much like the Steve Smith we are acquainted with. Chahal went for 19 off his final over, including two no-balls. Uncharacteristic of the wily leg-spinner and Kohli will be livid. Rajasthan should reach 180 from here...RR 158/4 (18 overs)

16:47 IST: OUT! Chris Morris, after a lethal spell with the new ball, has again delivered for Bangalore, this time scalping the dangerous Jos Buttler. Didn't really look in his element today, but he has stitched a good partnership with Smith. The RR captain has finally returned to form, and is striking the ball with great finesse. He will want to guide Rajasthan to a total in excess of 180...Tewatia can strike a few too. RR 133/4 after 16 overs.

16:40 IST: Absolutely. Chahal has turned into a match-winner par-excellence!

16:36 IST: End of over number 14, RR 108/3. The fourth wicket pair of Buttler and Smith has added 39 runs off 37 balls. Run-rate is an issue for Rajasthan at this stage and they need some big runs in the final six overs.

16:23 IST: End of over number 10, RR 80/3. Great work by Yuzvendra Chahal to get those two wickets. Both Smith and Buttler didn't try to play a big shot against Chahal. He has made a big impact this season.

16:10 IST: OUT! Robin Uthappa dismissed for well made 41 off 22. And Sanju Samson follows him. RR 69/3. Leg-spinners always get you wickets and Yuzvendra Chahal has struck twice in this over. What a comeback! Both Uthappa and Samson failed to clear the fence.

15:58 IST: OUT! Chris Morris gets Ben Stokes. The right-arm pacer has struck in the final over powerplay, good catch by AB de Villiers. And it's Sanju Samson who will bat at number three.

15:54 IST: Great start for RR! The opening pair of Robin Uthappa and Ben Stokes has put up 47 runs in five overs and RR haven't lost a wicket yet. Uthappa was looking under pressure in the middle-order but he is playing freely as an opener. Great move by the coaches.

15:44 IST: Four boundaries in the third over. 'Opener' Uthappa has collected 16 runs from Washington Sundar's second over. RR now 21/0 after three overs. Positive start for them.

15:39 IST: Good start for RCB with the ball, only 5 runs from first two overs. Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler or Steve Smith, who will come out to bat at number three?

15:30 IST: Surprise! Jos Buttler has been demoted. Robin Uthappa, who opened for India and Kolkata Knight Riders, will kick off the proceedings with Ben Stokes. Washington Sundar has the new ball.

15:16 IST: Here is the playing XI of both teams -

Rajasthan Royals: Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler(w), Steven Smith(c), Sanju Samson, Robin Uthappa, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Aaron Finch, Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli(c), AB de Villiers(w), Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Washington Sundar, Chris Morris, Shahbaz Ahmed, Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal

15:00 IST: An unchanged Rajasthan Royals have opted to bat first. Ben Stokes will open the innings. Royal Challengers Bangalore have made two changes. Shivam Dube and Mohammed Siraj have been dropped for Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Shahbaz Ahmed.

14:45 IST: AB de Villiers isn't expected to be held back this time. The left-right tactic saw him coming out to bat in the 17th over against Kings XI Punjab. Surely, this will not be the case today and he might be sent out soon after the fall of the second wicket. Toss just 15 minutes away.

14:30 IST: Will Ben Stokes continue to open with Jos Buttler? Or should RR use him as a finisher? RR have plenty of questions ahead of the game. Stokes has enjoyed much success as a finisher and RR do need someone to step up in that position. He might be demoted in the batting order today. RR are also expected to move on from Robin Uthappa again.
