Blake Lively celebrates Ryan Reynolds' first time voting in the US with jokes, no shoes
Canadian-born Ryan Reynolds, alongside actress wife Blake Lively, shared details about his first time voting in the United States – but the couple's message about the 2020 presidential election was nearly overshadowed by something fans noticed was missing on Lively's feet.
In a post to Lively's Instagram Thursday, the stars both posed with what appeared to be their mail-in ballots along with cheeky captions. Fans quickly noted Lively was barefoot for the PSA.
"It was Ryan’s first time. He was understandably scared. It all happened so fast. Like, REALLY fast. He wept. I pretended to weep. Then he called all his friend," she captioned the photo with the hashtag #voteearly.
In a similar post to Reynold's account, he wrote, "This is my first time voting in America. I’d like to thank my wife Blake for making my first time so gentle and loving. It was super scary at first, then exciting and now I’m a little tired. But proud. #VoteEarly"
Some followers took to the comment section to cheer on the Hollywood pair.
"I’m so proud of you," Tom Hanks' son Colin wrote.
"WELL DONE YOU TWO!!" actor Bart Johnson said.
"POV: you’re judging him for 'FIRST' and then you remember he is Canadian and just became a citizen," user @klg1116 joked.
Users were also quick to point out that Lively, 33, was wearing drawn-on shoes in her photos (in Reynold's post it's clear she's barefoot and on her tip-toes).
"Its the drawn on heels for me
