The Newcastle Knights look set to land Kangaroos and NSW Blues back-rower Tyson Frizell from the St George Illawarra Dragons.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Frizell will join the Knights on a three-year deal worth $2.1 million after signing off on the new contract before the NRL put all negotiations on ice due to the coronavirus crisis.

The representative star has been weighing up his options over recent weeks.

Frizell had wanted to resolve his future by the start of Round 1.

And after two opening losses with the Dragons, he appears to have done so.

Frizell has previously stated that he want to win a premiership before he retires.

“People know that I’m looking to win a premiership hopefully and play some good footy, play finals footy,” he said.
