Zara Tindall children: Queen’s granddaughter and husband Mike expecting third child
The Queen is said to be “delighted” after it was revealed that her granddaughter, Zara Tindall, is expecting a third child.
The royal’s husband, Mike Tindall, confirmed the news on Wednesday (local time) during an episode of his podcast, The Good, the Bad and the Rugby.
“It’s been a good week for me, had a little scan last week - third Tindall on its way,” the former English rugby star said.
Zara, who is the daughter of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, and Mike already have two daughters - six-year-old Mia and two-year-old Lena Elizabeth.
Tindall told the podcast that he would like his third child to be a son.
“I’d like a boy this time, I’ve got two girls, I would like a boy,” he said.
“I’ll love it whether a boy or a girl – but please be a boy.”
Tindall also joked about naming the baby after the coronavirus, saying: “We’re not sure what to do Covi or Covina – I don’t know where to go with names.”
The baby will be the Queen and Prince Philip’s eighth great-grandchild.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh are aware and delighted.”
