UFC fans in Perth will again have to splurge if they want a seat at next month’s massive live event at RAC Arena, with even the cheapest tickets set to go for more than $200.

Pre-sale tickets to the premium UFC 305 event on August 18— which will be headlined by the Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya middleweight title bout — went on sale on Wednesday morning but are not expected to last long as the sport’s popularity continues to rapidly grow down under.

Tickets for the fight currently range between $218.20 for the cheapest seats and $5112.60 for front-row seats.

It means prices have almost doubled since last year’s UFC 284 in Perth, which saw more than 14,000 fans pack into RAC Arena and prompted the WA Government to announce a multi-year partnership with the MMA company.

The hole burning in UFC fans’ hip pockets could get even larger come Friday as last year saw ticket prices almost double between pre-sale and general sale offers.

Should this year’s pricing structure follow a similar trend it could see the cheapest tickets go north of $400.

However, that is nothing compared to those wanting to be right next to the action with front-row floor seats coming in at an eye-watering $5112.60.

At those prices, you and a friend could fly around the world from Perth to New York and back and still have some pocket change left over.

But, while there are no Aussies in the main event this time round, the prices are unlikely to slow down the tide of UFC fans, particularly after local hope Steve Erceg was added to the card over the weekend along with crowd favourite Tai Tuivasa.

Erceg is looking forward to what he described as an “absolute banger” of a fight against No.4 ranked Kara-France as he looks for another title shot after his loss to champion Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 301.

“It’s going to be a fun fight... I’m going try to take his head off and he’s going to try to take mine off,” he told The West Australian.

General public tickets go on sale this Friday at 12pm through Tickettek.
