Bruce Lehrmann faces Hobart court on allegation of stealing car in ...

Bruce Lehrmann has faced a Tasmanian court charged with stealing a four-wheel drive.
The 29-year-old appeared via phone in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Monday morning for one count of motor vehicle stealing.
Police will allege Mr Lehrmann stole a Toyota Prado at Mountain River, in the Huon Valley, on November 20 last year.
It will be alleged he stole the car in contravention of the Police Offences Act 1935.
Mr Lehrmann was represented by high-profile Sydney-based criminal lawyer Zali Burrows.
It was his first appearance before Magistrate Reg Marron for the charge and he did not enter a plea, with Ms Burrows asking for an adjournment.

Ms Burrows told Magistrate Marron she needed to discuss the charges with the prosecution.
Last year, Mr Lehrmann lost a defamation case against Network Ten and Lisa Wilkinson after Justice Michael Lee found, on the balance of probabilities, that Mr Lehrmann raped Brittany Higgins at Parliament House.
The former Liberal staffer sued over an interview the network aired on The Project, in which Ms Higgins detailed the rape allegation against her then-colleague.
Mr Lehrmann has always maintained his innocence, and is appealing against the Federal Court's decision.
Mr Lehrmann has been bailed to re-appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court in June.
