Prince Harry claims Charles told him there wasnt enough money
“Pa might have dreaded the rising cost of maintaining us, but what he really couldn’t stomach was someone new dominating the monarchy,” he claims in his tell-all.

Prince Harry claims in his new memoir, “Spare,” that his father, King Charles III, told him that the royal family didn’t have “enough money” to financially support wife Meghan Markle.

According to the Duke of Sussex, Charles said he was “already having to pay” a lot to support his youngest son, along with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

“Pa didn’t financially support Willy and me, and our families, out of any largesse,” Harry, 38, alleges in the memoir. “That was his job. That was the whole deal.”

Harry writes that he and his older brother, 40, “agreed to serve the monarch” and keep their hands and feet “inside the gilded cage at all times” in exchange to be taken care of.

However, the Invictus Games founder alleges that he soon realized that King Charles, 74, was not really concerned about the money – but was rather envious of Markle’s growing popularity.

The Duke of Sussex claims his father told him that there “wasn’t enough money” for Markle, as the royal family was already supporting Prince William and Kate Middleton.

“Pa might have dreaded the rising cost of maintaining us, but what he really couldn’t stomach was someone new dominating the monarchy, grabbing the limelight, someone shiny and new coming in and overshadowing him,” the royal writes.

He noted that Charles had “lived through that before” when he married his first wife – Harry’s late mother – Princess Diana.

Page Six reached out to Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace for comment. We’re told neither will be commenting on any of the allegations made by Harry in the tell-all.

After Harry and Markle, 41, stepped away from their royal duties in 2020, they were financially cut off and had to cover expenses for their own security.

The following year, Harry revealed that he was able to maintain their lifestyle using the estimated $13 million inheritance from his late mother’s estate.

Now, Harry and the “Suits” alum’s financial woes are behind them. They reportedly inked a $100 million deal with Netflix for their bombshell docuseries, “Harry and Meghan,” according to Forbes.

Additionally, the couple also inked a $25 million deal with Spotify for Markle to produce the “Archetypes” podcast.

Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” hits US bookshelves on Jan. 10.
