Kyle Langford has made a Magpies fan look a little bit silly after an interaction in the second quarter.

After being awarded a free kick on the boundary line, Langford went to the fence to collect the Sherrin, which was being held out to him by a Magpies fan.

As he reached for the ball, the Collingwood supporter dropped it at Langford's feet in a show of disrespect.

But it didn't rattle the Bombers forward, who nailed the shot and turned around to the supporter and pointed him out before celebrating with teammates.

Earlier, tempers flared at quarter time after Magpies star Jordan De Goey kicked a goal after the siren.

Collingwood had been held goalless up until that point after the Bombers kicked three crucial majors.

An umpire could be heard telling a player "you've been reported" but it was not clear which player he was talking to.

The game is being played in front of a massive crowd, with early estimates suggesting it will break the attendance record set in the first match in 1995.
