Conor McGregor has not re-enrolled in the United States Anti-Doping Agency testing pool, according to reports, despite Dana White announcing the former champion would return to coach The Ultimate Fighter against Michael Chandler in May.
McGregor, who pulled out of the USADA testing pool after breaking his tibia in his last fight against Dustin Poirier in 2021, has been focusing on recovery and rehabilitation ahead of a potential return in 2023.
His blockbuster fight against Chandler, which would occur at the end of the TUF season, will only go ahead should McGregor complete UFC's required six-month anti-doping programme.
However, McGregor would not need to be in the testing pool 'just to coach'.
'As we've confirmed before, as of today, Conor McGregor has not been re-enrolled in the USADA testing pool, which he would have to be in for a minimum of six months and have at least two negative tests prior to any competition,' USADA representatives told TSN Sports.

Dana White announced the ex-champion would return to coach The Ultimate Fighter in May
'For all the obvious reasons, coaches are not in our testing pool and there is no requirement for him or other coaches to be in the testing pool just to coach.
'If there is eventually a plan for the coaches to fight each other, then he would have to be in the testing pool at least six months and have two negative tests before any fight.'
The next season of TUF is set to debut on May 30 and run through until August 15, although no date for the showpiece fight between the two lightweights has yet been confirmed.
Whilst completing his rehabilitation, McGregor has kept himself busy with a host of side projects away from the cage, preparing for his first major role in the upcoming film Road House starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
