Jake Paul makes $50 million challenge to Conor McGregor; Bellator's Scott Coker suggests MMA fight

Jake Paul makes 50 million challenge to Conor McGregor Bellators Scott Coker suggests MMA fight
The infamous YouTube star wants back in the boxing ring, but the Bellator CEO has raised the stakes and dared him to step into the mixed martial arts cage.

YouTube star Jake Paul is 2-0 in boxing, and has his sights set on a huge name for a potential bout No. 3.

In a profanity-laden rant on social media, Paul has challenged UFC star Conor McGregor to a $50 million dollar fight while also throwing shade the way of McGregor's upcoming MMA opponent Dustin Poirier and longtime McGregor rival Nate Diaz.

Paul's video even involved him taking a swipe at McGregor's fiance Dee Devlin, and UFC president Dana White was not safe from his tongue-lashings, either. White had previously claimed there was "zero" chance of McGregor vs. Paul taking place.

In the video, Paul deployed a lot of unsavoury language before going on to say: “My team sent you a $50 million offer this morning — $50 million contract [with] proof of funds — the biggest offer you’ve ever been offered, but you’re still scared to fight me, Conor.

“You’re ducking me because you don’t want to lose to a f—ing YouTuber. You’re 0-1 as a boxer. I’m 2-0 as a boxer.”

That one defeat for McGregor came against all-time great Floyd Mayweather, who retired with a 50-0 professional record but is set to face Paul's brother Logan in an exhibition in 2021. Paul, meanwhile, defeated fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib and NBA basketball player Nate Robinson in his two boxing forays thus far.

The fight against Robinson, which Paul won via knockout, took place on the undercard of Mike Tyson's eight-round exhibition against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr.

Aside from the names in Paul's crosshairs, he has been linked for a long time with McGregor's friend and training partner, Dillon Danis, who is perhaps a more realistic candidate for a future showdown with the internet personality.

Danis, 27, is 2-0 in mixed martial arts and currently works for Bellator, whose CEO Scott Coker has suggested that Paul put his money where his mouth is and take on Danis inside the cage as opposed to a boxing ring.

"If Dillon wants to fight him in boxing we won't step in the way," Coker told Sky Sports. "We will let it happen. It's up to him.

"Why do they always have to go to boxing? Maybe we could do [one boxing match and one MMA fight] to make it even.

"Those conversations are ongoing, and have been happening. There is a bit of bad blood between those guys which started years ago.

"There was a boxing match that [Jake Paul] was fighting in — me and Dillon were going to go.

"But then we were told Dillon wasn't welcome. They were afraid he would cause trouble. I said: 'That is ridiculous'. I know there is a lot of trash talk back and forth.

"I spoke with Logan Paul and his manager last year in Miami about it, and they are very interested. I said: 'You guys should come to MMA'. They are talented athletes who have a wrestling background."
