Liverpool will hope they can consign a slow start to the season to the past by making it three wins on the spin at Everton.

Having drawn with Crystal Palace and Fulham and lost at Manchester United in their first three Premier League games, the Reds thrashed Bournemouth 9-0 on Saturday before claiming a last-gasp win over Newcastle United in midweek.

They will be out to keep the good feeling going with a trip to Goodison Park for the Merseyside derby.

As for Everton, they have drawn three on the bounce after losing their opening two fixtures and would love to get that first win against their oldest rivals.

Liverpool received a double injury boost ahead of beating Newcastle, with Joel Matip and Curtis Jones coming back in to take a place on the bench.

There could be further good news on the fitness front prior to the derby, with Diogo Jota expected to be ready to claim a place in the squad. Meanwhile, Darwin Nunez is available after serving a three-match suspension and new signing Arthur Melo could be involved if relevant paperwork is completed in time.

However, midfielder Jordan Henderson now has a hamstring problem and will join goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, defenders Calvin Ramsay and Ibrahima Konate, and midfielders Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara in missing out.
