Saturday’s Misfits Boxing event from The OVO Arena in London, England was arguably better known for who wasn’t fighting than who was.

That’s thanks to Dillon Danis, who stole headlines and wasted everyone’s time by getting himself booked into a boxing bout with Youtube star KSI that he apparently had no plan of following through on. With Danis no-showing a press conference promoting the match-up, yucking his way through a sitdown interview with Ariel Helwani in which he claimed to have no head coach, then finally pulling out of the fight, Danis certainly got people talking — for all the wrong reasons.

Worse, if you’re DAZN and Misfits Boxing anyway, was that while the Danis match-up would at least draw MMA fans hoping to see Danis take a drubbing, the replacement fight between KSI and FaZe Temperrr — another social media guy — lacked the same umphhh.

It’s almost a shame, with that in mind, that Danis, who is 2-0 as a Bellator MMA fighter and once turned heads on the jiu-jitsu scene, is now banned from Misfits Boxing.
